Love Manx
How we helped Love Manx generate over 1.5 million views while championing local businesses across the Isle of Man
When people think of the Isle of Man, they often think of the TT, beautiful scenery and a strong sense of community.
What they don't always see is the incredible network of independent businesses, cafés, restaurants, retailers, attractions and local experiences that make the island such a special place to live, work and visit.
That's where Love Manx comes in.
Created to celebrate and support local businesses, Love Manx exists to shine a spotlight on the people, places and experiences that make the Isle of Man unique, but there was a challenge.
Many local businesses simply don't have the time, budget or confidence to create a steady stream of content, particularly the short-form video content that audiences increasingly expect on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
At the same time, consumers have become far more selective about what they engage with online. Traditional promotional posts don't cut through in the way they once did. People want authentic recommendations, real experiences and content that feels genuine.
The opportunity was clear, Love Manx had the potential to become more than a promotional platform. It could become the place people go to discover what's happening across the Isle of Man.
Building a community, not just creating content
From the beginning, our focus wasn't on creating adverts, it was on telling stories.
Stories about passionate business owners, hidden gems, great food, memorable experiences, local events and the people behind them.
Working with businesses across hospitality, retail, tourism, wellness and events, we developed a content strategy designed to showcase what makes each business special while building a stronger Love Manx community.
Rather than running one-off campaigns, we created a repeatable model that could consistently support local businesses throughout the year.
Importantly, we made the process simple. We coordinated filming, captured content on location, edited videos, created ready-to-share assets and managed distribution across channels. This removed many of the barriers that often prevent small businesses from benefiting from professional content creation.
Showing the Isle of Man through a different lens
One of the biggest shifts was moving towards video-first storytelling.
Instead of simply telling people where to visit, eat, shop or stay, we showed them through Reels, TikToks and community-focused content, audiences were invited inside businesses, events and experiences across the island.
The content felt less like advertising and more like recommendations from a trusted local friend.
As the content library grew, so did the audience.
People weren't just watching. They were commenting, sharing, tagging friends and saving recommendations for later.
Within seven months, Love Manx generated:
Over 1.56 million content views
More than 17,000 engagements
A community of over 13,000 followers
2,575 new followers across platforms
A brand-new TikTok channel grown from zero to more than 1,000 followers organically
Perhaps most importantly, much of this growth was achieved organically. While paid promotion helped create early momentum, the content itself became the primary driver of reach and engagement.
Turning views into real-world results
The true measure of success wasn't the social media metrics, it was what happened afterwards.
One of the clearest examples came from local bar The Fynoderee.
After a Love Manx TikTok featuring the venue gained traction, the team reported receiving bookings from customers who had never visited before but had discovered the venue through the video.
For us, that's where the real value lies.
The views, likes and shares are great indicators that content is resonating, but the real impact comes when that attention turns into people walking through the door, supporting local businesses and spending money within the local economy.
It's a powerful reminder that social media, when done well, can do far more than build awareness, it can drive action.
Spotlight: Manx Menu March
One of the standout campaigns was Manx Menu March.
Created to celebrate the island's hospitality sector, the campaign encouraged people to discover new cafés, restaurants and bars across the Isle of Man.
Working alongside participating venues, we produced a series of "Come With Me" style videos that took audiences behind the scenes, showcasing the atmosphere, food, people and personality of each location.
The format was simple, authentic and highly engaging.
The campaign generated:
Over 460,000 views
More than 2,300 engagements
Hundreds of new followers
More importantly, it introduced local hospitality businesses to entirely new audiences in a way that felt authentic, useful and engaging.
Why it worked
The success of Love Manx didn't come from complicated marketing tactics, it came from understanding what people connect with.
People trust stories.
People trust recommendations.
People want to support local businesses when they know they exist.
By focusing on authentic storytelling, community engagement and consistent content creation, Love Manx became more than a marketing platform, it became a trusted guide to discovering the best of the Isle of Man.
The bigger picture
Today, Love Manx continues to champion local businesses, events and experiences across the island.
The platform has generated more than 1.5 million content views, built a thriving online community and provided meaningful exposure for countless local businesses.
But beyond the numbers, the real success lies in the connections created between businesses and customers, between visitors and experiences, and between people and the island they call home.
That's the power of great storytelling.
