Love Tech

Supporting Love Tech’s mission to inspire the next generation of girls in STEM across the Isle of Man

When young people think about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), many still don’t see themselves represented.

Despite progress, women remain underrepresented across many STEM industries, and for many girls, the confidence to pursue these careers often begins with seeing someone who looks like them succeeding.

That’s exactly why Love Tech exists. Founded by a group of passionate individuals on the Isle of Man, Love Tech is a registered charity dedicated to inspiring and empowering girls and young women to explore opportunities in STEM through education, mentoring, events and real life role models.

At Great Minds Marketing, this was a mission we immediately connected with. As a female founded marketing business, we believe in championing women, celebrating female achievement and creating opportunities that empower others to succeed. Supporting Love Tech wasn’t simply another client project, it was a partnership built on shared values

Together, we wanted to ensure that every workshop, every mentor, every volunteer and every inspiring story reached the audiences who needed to see it most.

Building visibility for a bigger purpose

Love Tech was already making a remarkable difference across the Island. From school workshops and mentoring programmes to Women in Tech Week, STEM Spark, Mum Tech, Code Club and large scale community events, the charity was inspiring hundreds of young people every year.

Like many charities, Love Tech is driven by volunteers. Time and resources are naturally focused on delivering programmes rather than promoting them. We recognised an opportunity to strengthen the charity’s visibility, tell more of the stories happening behind the scenes and position Love Tech as one of the Isle of Man’s leading voices for STEM education and female empowerment.

Building a community, not just creating content

From the outset, our focus wasn’t simply to promote events, it was to build a community around Love Tech’s mission. A community where girls could see inspiring role models, where parents could find opportunities for their children and where businesses could see the importance of investing in this mission.

Working alongside the Love Tech committee, we developed a marketing and communications strategy that combined storytelling, strategic campaigns, media relations and digital content to amplify the charity’s work throughout the year.

Rather than treating every event as a standalone campaign, we connected them into one powerful narrative, showcasing the volunteers, mentors, educators, businesses and young people working together to inspire the next generation of women in STEM.

Our support included:

  • Marketing strategy and communications planning

  • Social media management and content creation

  • Public relations and media engagement

  • Campaign planning and event promotion

  • Graphic design and branded assets

  • Photography and video storytelling

  • Website content and digital communications

  • Analytics and performance reporting

Growing Love Tech’s reach

By consistently sharing authentic stories and celebrating the people behind the charity, Love Tech’s digital presence continued to grow across two reporting years, our marketing activity helped organically generate:

  • 299,807 content views

  • 15,792 engagements

  • 943 pieces of content published

  • 562 new followers

  • A community of 4,282 followers across social media

Every post represented another opportunity for a young female to discover a career she hadn’t previously considered, and every meaningful engagement meant another conversation about STEM.

The growing online community also helped attract greater media attention, strengthen relationships with sponsors and partners, and increase awareness of the charity’s programmes across the Isle of Man.

Making role models visible

One of the most important aspects of our work was helping showcase the women already making a difference across STEM industries. Whether that was highlighting local engineers, software developers, scientists, entrepreneurs and mentors, promoting Women in Tech Week, or supporting the visit of former NASA astronaut Nicole Stott, every campaign reinforced the same message: Girls belong in STEM

By sharing authentic stories from women who have built successful careers across science, technology, engineering and mathematics, we helped make these industries feel more accessible and achievable for the next generation.

These campaigns didn’t simply celebrate successful women, they demonstrated what was possible.

Beyond social media

While the growth in digital engagement was significant, the partnership extended far beyond social media. Together we supported campaigns and initiatives including:

  • STEM Spark school workshops

  • Women in Tech Week

  • Mum Tech

  • Summer STEM Open Day’s

  • Code Club

  • Younge Female Engineers campaign

  • International Women’s Day

  • Mentoring initiatives

  • School assemblies

  • Industry partnerships

  • The Isle of Man visit of former NASA astronaut Nicole Stott

Each initiative was supported through strategic communications, media engagement, storytelling and campaign promotion, helping Love Tech reach more schools, more families, more businesses and more potential supporters.

Why it worked

The success of this partnership was driven by purpose and the people connecting with real stories. By placing these stories at the heart of every campaign, we helped Love Tech build a stronger community around its mission while increasing awareness of the opportunities available within STEM.

The bigger picture

Today, Love Tech continues to inspire young people across the Isle of Man through education, mentoring and community engagement.

Over two years, our partnership has helped amplify that mission through nearly 300,000 content views, more than 15,700 engagements and almost 1,000 pieces of content, but the greatest achievement can’t be measured by statistics alone.

It’s measured in the confidence of a girl who decides engineering could be for her, a young student who discovers coding for the first time and a mentor who inspired the next generation. Because ultimately, this partnership has never just been about marketing. It’s been about helping ensure every girl on the Isle of Man knows that there is a place for her in STEM

If you’d like help with social media management, content marketing or SEO on the Isle of Man (or beyond), we’d love to hear from you.
